Durkee Salad Topping Review

durkee salad toppingThis is a review of Durkee Salad Topping.

I would like to the page featuring this product, but Durkee doesn’t have one. If you go to their site, they push to another that doesn’t like Salad Topping. You get an error. This is probably all for the best, because, unlike the other salad topping I reviewed, this one isn’t as good.

The Durkee Salad Topping ingredients sesame nuggets as the first ingredient, which is a little off. They are not sesame seeds, but a combination of the following:

  1. Unbleached wheat flour
  2. Soybean oil
  3. Sesame seeds
  4. Bulgar wheat
  5. Salt
  6. Beet powder
  7. Turmeric

I think the idea is to make the nuggets more than simple seeds. After this comes in the artificial bacon bits, which I love.

The problem I had with the Durkee Salad Topping, unlike the McCormick Salad Topping, is its flavor. There really isn’t any past the imitation bacon bits. The seseame nuggets don’t bring anything to the salad, which is disappointing.

If you need a less expensive salad topping, you can choose Durkee and you should be alright.
