Schnucks flaky jumbo buttermilk biscuits review

schnucks-flaky-jumbo-buttermilk-biscuits-photoThis is a review of Schnucks flaky jumbo buttermilk biscuits.

Schnucks is a local grocery store chain with their own private label items.

The biscuits comes in a tube like other ready to cook biscuits or rolls. I do enjoy opening them with a spoon and hearing the pheeewwww sound it makes as air creeps into the broken cylinder.

They biscuits came apart without a problem, which is the problem sometimes with the tube dough. Cooking was quick and easy.

Here is where the bad parts started:

They separated too easily – I know, it is a fine line, but the biscuit tops and bottoms were sort of pre-split. This was odd since the split was perfect. I have no idea how they did this, but part of the fun in eating biscuits is splitting them yourself.

The taste was fairly bland – Relying on my daughters to tell me how they tasted, neither was complimentary. One didn’t have a second and the other didn’t even eat one.

I know, they are biscuits coming from a tube. Still, I would expect some more taste and a little less perfection.
