Battle: Los Angeles Movie Review

battle-los-angeles-movie-review-photoThis is a review of the movie Battle: Los Angeles.

The first thing you need to understand is that Battle: Los Angeles isn’t a movie that will make many Oscar lists. It is a simple movie about an invasion of earth by space aliens. Starring Aaron Eckhart and Michelle Rodriguez, the movie is riveting, exciting and well worth your time.

I won’t go into the plot since it is pretty thin. Aliens land, aliens attack and we fight them. Simple.

What I liked about Battle: Los Angeles:

Suspense: When Eckhart’s soldiers are patrolling the streets of LA, you feel their nervousness, their fear. You actually feel you are on patrol with them.

Reality: The soldiers actually do things you would think to do when encountering an alien species. There is no assumption and acceptance of the aliens, but curiosity and hatred.

Special Effects: I am constantly stunned how good special effects have become. It actually looked like LA succumbed to an alien invasion.

What I didn’t like about Battle: Los Angeles:

Nothing.

Battle: Los Angeles is a fantastically fun movie to watch. If you get a chance to watch it, you won’t regret it.
