Bisquick Shake N Pour Review

This is a review of Bisquick Shake ‘N Pour Buttermilk Pancake Mix, 5.1-Ounce Containers (Pack of 12).

Like pancakes? Hate all the work necessary? Really, you wake up early, hungry. Go to the cabinet, get the bowl, get the mix, get the eggs, get the oil. Dump them all together. Mix. While mixing the mix goes all over.

Finished mixing. Transfer the batter to something pourable. Make a mess. By this time you realize cereal would have been easier and you’d be eating by now.

Don’t worry. Bisquick now has a pancake mix that makes morning, afternoon or evening pancakes as easy as shaking and eating.

I have no idea where I read this, but the Betty Crocker people released a cake mix that just needed water. It didn’t sell well, so they did research. It turns out people wanted to feel like they were creating something, so the fact you just added water took away from that. Bisquick disposes of this notion since they know you just want your pancakes.

The container is pourable, so all you do is open the easy to open lid, add water, close the lid and shake. Don’t forget to close the lid. Once shaking is finished, you pour the batter onto a hot frying pan or griddle and cook.

Done.

Taste and More

These probably aren’t the best tasting pancakes you’ve ever had. Come on, now. The Bisquick pancakes are delicious, though. More important, you are eating them while the other people are still mixing.

The package says it makes 6-8 pancakes, but we’ve only gotten six nice sized pancakes out of them. It could be our mixing isn’t ideal or some of the batter is caught in the handle.

As the father of a four-year old who is a picky eater, I can recommend this mix without reservation. Quick, easy and delicious.
