Mission Carb Balance Flour Tortillas Review

This is a review of Mission Carb Balance Large Tortillas.

Tortillas are one of the things you miss when you’re eating low carb. Mission has done a great job bringing tortillas with low carb values to the market. We’ve fallen in love with their medium soft taco version that has only 6 grams of net carb. This is amazing since the normal tortillas come in around 20-30 net carbs.

What we like about Mission Carb Balance

They come 8 to a pack and it’ll run you about $5.00 all together. Rarely going on sale, they are an expensive item on your grocery list, but they make great wraps.

Running around 8 inches in diameter, the wraps are large enough for tacos, sandwiches and anything else. They are sold in the non-refrigerated section of the grocery store, usually in the Latin section.

A couple of odd things

There are two things to point out about the tortillas that might occur due to the fact they are low carb:

  1. Sticky – They tend to stick together in the packaging, which leads to torn tortillas. We’ve learned to fan them out and sort of massage them before peeling them off. Still, it happens more than we think it should.
  2. Tear easily – When heated the tortillas will tear easily when you’re wrapping them. We’ve gotten around this by ensuring our filling is evenly distributed.

Mission Carb Balance tortillas are delicious and allow you to enjoy many of the off limit no carb items.
