We spent almost a week in Las Vegas in the beginning of March. We’ll have more reviews of everything Vegas soon, but the one thing, the absolute most delicious thing, was the fried Twinkies we had at the Mermaids Casino on Fremont Street.

The Fried Twinkies will set you back 99 cents, but they are well worth it. You stand in a line at the back of the casino to order. After ordering you can watch the Twinkie prepared as so:

1. Pull refrigarted Twinkie with an inserted wood stick from cooler.

When you are trying to eat low carb sweet snacks are hard to find. The Dixie Diners folks came out with something called, and get ready for the long name:

Whew.

This is basically popcorn with almonds, caramel and toffee put together. I have no idea how they limit it to 3 net carbs, but they do.

The serving sizes are well portioned, so you know and feel like you’re getting a true snack. The popcorn isn’t too sticky and it isn’t too soft. It’s just right.
